Diary of a Music Teacher: Playing Duets with Your Students

Playing duets with your students can be a fun way to practice keeping in time & playing music with other people. With certain instruments, such as the piano, students spend long periods of time practicing on their own and so they might find it a little tricky to play with another person first time around,

All the students that I have played duets with have thoroughly enjoyed it; there has been much laughter and banter. I find that it has been a great way to bond with students as well. Furthermore, it has been a good way to show students that teachers also make mistakes; when ever I have made a mistake, they have all laughed and felt better about making mistakes themselves afterwards 🙂
