How do you feel about going back to play old songs that you perhaps played a few months ago or even last year?

For students, this can be something that they don’t want to do – unless it is their favourite songs!- because it can make them feel like they are going backwards instead of improving.

At the same time though it can help them acknowledge and see how far they have come and how much they have learnt.

There is no better feeling than realizing how much you have learnt 🙂 What I like doing once in a while is choosing a few songs from a few months back and playing them again with students to highlight how much they have learnt. Celebrating students’ progress is rewarding for all, including the teacher 🙂
