Over the past couple of years, NoteCorner has had the pleasure of being part of a new innovative project exploring the use of sound underwater with children who have disabilities. In this project, a well-known Sound Artist, Joel Cahen, uses sound and music with underwater speakers in a hydrotherapy pool and children can enjoy the benefits of the sound and of water.
Benefits arising from the sessions have included enhanced physical movement on dry land, improve emotional state and extended states of relaxation. The Director of the project, Adele Drake, has worked with disabled kids and music technology for many years, whilst Joel has performed as a Sound Artist across the globe. NoteCorner’s role in the project is to observe and record the sessions, and in the turn them into reports and handbooks for practitioners.
